11 Year-Old Allegedly Sold For $1000

An 11 year-old has been allegedly sold for $1000 according to a release issued recently by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). She was rescued alongside other 54 minors, who were mostly women rescued from a Columbian Trafficking ring. The release stated that The Columbian and American law enforcement officials arrested 12 people for their involvement in the sex trafficking ring.

The release also noted that the victim broke down in tears after the bust while thanking officers for their action. ICE, HSI Attache Office in Columbia, and the Columbian Attorney General’s Technical Investigative Corps Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit conducted an undercover investigation that resulted in the arrests.

According to the report, some of the minors had been drugged at the time of the arrest. “It’s unconscionable that people engage in the sexual trafficking of innocent children,” said HSI Colombia Attaché Luis Sierra. The release noted that the traffickers have been charged with human trafficking of minors, pimping, and pandering. If convicted, they will face between five and 20 years in prison. “Through this successful bilateral operation, the U.S. and Colombia are sending a clear message that we will go to any length to identify and catch the monsters that exploit our vulnerable children,” Said Sierra.
